UNJLC is the special agency of the United Nations that is in charge to coordinate humanitarian efforts in crisis areas around the world.

Information delivery is critical for UNJLC and is done mostly through web and email: from customs procedures to travel routes and transports of humanitarian goods, to oil supply in emergency areas, informations have to flow and be always available.

UNJLC moved to Plone at the end of 2005, migrating from a proprietary CMS and had to do it quickly and efficiently. Two years later the times had come to put in place some improvements on both sides of functionalities and interface.

The new portal, Logistics Cluster, features new content types and a tagging systems that allows a better interaction with maps and spatial data sets. It brings also a navigation system that can be based on topics and metadata and a new design that respect the role and scope of the organization.

RSS is widely used to provide a simple, standard-compliant, though powerful way to spread content; a special feature - called "dump on CD" - was implemented to bring to organizations a faithful copy of the site for offline reference.

Project realized for the Zea-Partners association.
